Your Prayers Please

Apparently like many around this part of Tennessee, I’ve been ill with a flu of sorts the last 24 hours. This is only the second time to look at the computer. I’ve had to miss several services, but pray to be able to be back at the altar tomorrow morning. I would appreciate your prayers as I will pray for you all. I’m already mending a bit (got up as far as the computer!). I’ll be posting by Monday at the latest, God willing.

Heavenly Father, physician of our souls and bodies, Who have sent Your only-begotten Son and our Lord Jesus Christ to heal every sickness and infirmity, visit and heal also Your servant, Father Stephen, from all physical and spiritual ailments through the grace of Your Christ. Grant him patience in this sickness, strength of body and spirit, and recovery of health. Lord, You have taught us through Your word to pray for each other that we may be healed. I pray, heal Your servant Father Stephen and grant to him the gift of complete health. For You are the source of healing and to You I give glory, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

Ah, Father! I’m so sorry. First Annika, then Gunter and lastly I have caught this thing. I’m pretty sure we gave it to my mother when we were in NJ this for the funeral this week. We will be praying for your quick recovery.

You’re in my prayers, Father. It is not fun having one the tummy bugs. Seems to be the most humbling among all the things that can strike us…it is fairly easy to manage with a head cold…but the stomach flu just manages to take out the whole body…the wind in your sails is just gone.

    Be well Father.

I just found out from our priest (he did our houseblessing today) that our choir leader’s (Subdeacon Dax “Anthony” Stokes) mother attends your church. I was telling our priest how much I enjoy your Weblog, and that’s when he told me.

Hot J&B with honey helped me out during an ill time this winter.

    I pray thee well.

    Ocholophobist,

I think I’ll hire you as my physician! I served the liturgy this morning, but my energy stopped there. I thought I was fever free, but this afternoon turned difficult again. I’ve heard of a flu like this around here lasting several days. I can’t tell all of how much I appreciate the prayers and can only add, Glory to God for All Things. May God bless!

    Dear Father Stephen:

Many prayers for your speedy recovery! Your thoughts expressed here at this web-log make an oasis of hope in an all-too-often arid environment.

    in Christ,

    Eric
