St. Nikolai Velimirovich

Words of truth from one of the 20th century’s great saints. The particular connection between nature and humanity is quite striking.

Holy St Nikolai, pray unto God for us that we may join in Christ’s triumph over death by dying to ourselves.

Thanks for posting this. I always
    enjoy hearing about spiritual personae
that I have never encountered before.

I think what he is saying is that when
we are disconnected from God’s will
through natural cycles than we are
    prone to sin?

    Pete.

Participating in the divine life of God in the communion of saints is very much part of Eastern Orthodox praxis but this has been misinterpreted in the West — St. Nikolai is one of my favourite saints.

Thank you for posting this Father Stephen!

A question – do you know the name of the Church of Scotland Minister (Priest) with whom Nikolai Velimirovich corresponded? There was a small paperback published of their correspondences and I wondered if anyone knows the title?

“Participating in the divine life of God in the communion of saints…” -Micah

Wow, Micah – I always thought of participation in terms of Energies – but participating in the Communion of Saints as an expresion of the Divine Life of God, expalins some of the things that hae happened in the last few years – you have great insights and they are really helpful.

  8. Micah Says:

Good point Jerry. There can be no communion (less still full) without the Divine Energies. You don’t hear too much about the Energies in the West…

  9. Brian Says:

Many years ago a Pastor called my attention to the fact that all creation is alive and added, “Look under an electron microscope and you will see.”

Indeed it is alive, suffering in silent alienation from the truth of its existence because of the multitude of my sins.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner.

Thank you so very much for posting this.
